Native Garden Design - Adelaide & Adelaide Hills
NATIVE GARDENS DESIGNED FOR ADELAIDE'S CLIMATE.
Native gardens are more than a planting choice - they create outdoor spaces that are resilient, sustainable and connected to their surroundings.
We design native gardens throughout Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, combining thoughtful planting, natural materials and functional outdoor spaces.
Rather than forcing plants into unsuitable conditions, we select species based on your soil, sunlight, water availability and how you want to use your garden. The result is a landscape that feels natural, requires less intervention and continues to evolve over time.
OUR DESIGN PROCESS
DISCOVER
We meet on site to understand how you want to use the space, and what could thrive there. We assess the land, light and habitat potential - then shape a clear direction for a garden that belongs to its site.
DEFINE
You receive a tailored Project Proposal including mood boards, concept direction and scope, shaped around the native plant palette and natural materials suited to your garden. This is where your vision begins to take form.
DESIGN
Once we've worked through your feedback and refined the direction together, we develop a fully resolved design including: 3D visual renders, Scaled site plan, Detailed native planting plan and Lighting plan.
THE BENEFITS OF NATIVE GARDEN DESIGN
Water wise gardens
Australian native plants are naturally adapted to periods of heat and lower rainfall, making them well suited to Adelaide's conditions. With considered plant selection, soil preparation and irrigation design, native gardens can reduce water requirements compared to traditional high-maintenance landscapes.
See how we turned existing bluestone into a stormwater-fed dry creek bed in our Thebarton rain garden.
Less ongoing maintenance
A well-designed native garden requires less mowing, fertilising and upkeep once established. Choosing plants suited to their environment helps them thrive naturally while giving you more time to enjoy your outdoor space.
Support local wildlife
Native gardens provide valuable habitat and food sources for local birds, bees and beneficial insects. Through thoughtful planting choices, we can create gardens that support biodiversity while remaining beautiful and functional.
Sustainable landscaping
We believe in using what’s around us, incorporating local stone, Australian timber and natural elements wherever possible to reduce impact and create landscapes that feel connected to their surroundings.
Curious what this looks like in a real garden? Our Clapham project features raw-edge timber posts, natural log seating and nature play throughout.
