SOAK: A Climate-Ready Rain Garden | Royal Adelaide Show 2025
about SOAK
SOAK was Desert Flower Landscaping's display garden at the Royal Adelaide Show 2025 - our vision of a climate-ready garden design, built to thrive through South Australia's extremes of drought and downpour.
By combining dry creek beds, rain garden design and resilient, climate-adapted plant choices, we created a landscape that captures and holds rainwater, supports biodiversity, and stays beautiful in every season.

Why Rain Gardens Matter
Instead of sending water straight down the drain, a rain garden slows it, soaks it, and returns it to the landscape - creating a water-sensitive design that works with South Australia's climate, not against it.
With Thanks to Our Partners
SOAK wouldn't have been possible without the support of these local businesses and talented contractors:
A Small Art Factory (steel sculptures)
Terra Organica (handcrafted timber work)
