Stone Walling - Adelaide & Adelaide Hills
FROM WISTOW BLUESTONE TO ADELAIDE HILLS SANDSTONE, WE BUILD WITH STONE THAT BELONGS.
Where other landscapers reach for concrete sleepers or besser block, we favour natural, locally quarried stone. It ages with character rather than wearing out, and because it genuinely belongs in an Adelaide garden.
We work extensively with Wistow Bluestone and Adelaide Hills Sandstone, choosing stone suited to your site, your home's existing materials, and the feel you're after - whether that's a rustic, dry-stacked look or a clean, precisely coursed finish. Stone walling and cladding can define a garden as much as any planting scheme, framing entries, softening a boundary, or turning a plain wall into the feature of the space.
Sustainability matters to us here too. Where possible, we incorporate found stone already on site - material excavated during construction, or stone left behind from an old wall or garden bed, back into the new design. It's a practical way to reduce waste, and it often gives a wall genuine history and character that quarried stone alone can't replicate.
Every wall starts with the right footings and drainage behind it, sized correctly for the height, load and site conditions. Whether it's a freestanding garden wall, a feature cladding panel against an existing structure, or a full stone entry statement, we build it to last.
We do more than build stone walls, we create outdoor spaces that feel cohesive and beautifully designed. Whether you're planning a full garden makeover or simply want to incorporate natural stone into your landscape, we can bring every element together, from planting and paving to the finishing touches. Instead of juggling multiple contractors, you'll have one team delivering a seamless result.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Stone selection, wall size, site access, and structural requirements all influence the final cost. Following an on-site assessment, we'll provide a clear, itemised quote with no surprises.
-
Retaining walls are structural, engineered to hold back a slope or change in ground level. Stone walling and cladding is generally freestanding or decorative - garden walls, boundary features, or cladding over an existing structure. We build both, and we're happy to walk you through which your site actually needs.
-
Both are beautiful, locally quarried stones with quite different characters. Bluestone tends to read cooler and more contemporary, with tighter colour variation; sandstone brings warmer, earthier tones that suit a more traditional or rustic garden. We'll help you choose based on your home's existing materials and the feel you're after.
-
We love incorporating stone that's already on site, whether it's excavated during construction or left over from an old wall or garden bed. Not every site has stone worth reusing, but where it does, it's a sustainable choice that also gives your project genuine character and history.
-
In most cases, yes - though natural stone varies batch to batch, so an exact match isn't always possible. We'll source stone as close as we can to your existing work and talk you through the options before starting.
-
Cladding is a great way to transform an existing besser block wall, retaining structure, or plain façade without a full rebuild. We'll assess the existing surface to confirm it can support the cladding before starting.
