Decking - Adelaide & Adelaide Hills
FROM AUSTRALIAN HARDWOODS TO LOW-MAINTENANCE COMPOSITE, WE BUILD DECKS DESIGNED TO BE LIVED ON.
A deck should extend the way you actually use your home - a spot for morning coffee, an entertaining area that flows off the kitchen, or a quiet platform tucked among the garden. We design and build decking that's considered as part of your whole outdoor space, not bolted on as an afterthought.
We favour Australian hardwoods, particularly Spotted Gum, for its warmth, durability and the way it ages into the landscape rather than sitting on top of it. For clients after a lower-maintenance option, we also install Ekodeck composite decking, giving you the timber look without the ongoing oiling and sealing.
Every deck starts with proper footings and a structurally sound frame, sized correctly for the site, height and expected load - and where timber is used below deck level, it's treated to the right rating for ground contact or exposure. We don't cut corners on what you can't see.
We also love to take on bespoke features and custom builds - multi-level decks, built-in seating and planters and feature battens. We're not just decking builders, we're landscape designers who happen to build exceptional decks. If you're picturing a whole garden transformation, we can take care of the planting, paving and every other element alongside it, so you get one complete design rather than a series of separate jobs. Tell us your vision and we'll make it happen.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Costs depend on the timber or composite material chosen, deck size, height off the ground, and site access. We'll provide a clear, itemised quote after an on-site assessment.
-
Australian hardwood, like Spotted Gum, offers a natural grain and warmth that ages beautifully with minimal upkeep. Composite decking offers a consistent, low-maintenance finish that resists fading, staining and splintering. We'll talk through the trade-offs for your site, budget and how much upkeep you want to take on.
-
A well-built hardwood deck can last decades with basic care - an occasional oil or reseal keeps the timber protected and looking its best. We'll walk you through a simple maintenance schedule specific to your timber choice.
-
Yes - this is where custom decking really earns its place. We regularly design decks around established trees, split levels, and tight or sloping sites, working the structure to suit the land rather than the other way round.
-
Absolutely - lighting can completely change how a deck feels and functions after dark, from subtle step and post lighting through to full entertaining setups. We work with quality suppliers like Havit and Allera, to bring lighting into the design and build from the outset.
-
Yes, we can guide you through any necessary approvals as part of the process, including height and boundary requirements where relevant.

Decking and pergolas are often built together as one project. We'll design them as a single considered space rather than two separate add-ons.
